Swarm in Compost Bin 8-4-19
April 8th 2019 A neighbour asked me to move them. There had been a colony in this plastic compost bin for 4-5 years no problem. But new neighbours who were nervous of bees etc had forced their evacuation. The bottom of the bin was full of old comb because as the weather warmed up the plastic of the bin became very hot and some of the comb melted. Managed to get them into frames - comb tied in with string and set them up in a nuc box. Where they thrived. No further photos as we all got very sticky! Jo Pierce
